Lunchtime

Sad to say, a lot of our meals end up like this.  For this reason, I usually keep Adam in pj's until lunch is over or he eats lunch with no shirt.  I also keep a towel on the floor under him...doesn't work all the time.  I think how far a baby can throw food should be an Olympic sport.

Yep, he is still the cutest kid in the world even if he has food all over his face...and his hands...and his clothes...and in his hair...and...well, you get it.

Bainbridge Pumpkin Walk

Tonight we went to the Bainbridge Gardens Pumpkin Walk.  We have wanted to see what Bainbridge Island was all about for awhile now.  Adam and I went and picked up David from work and we headed over.  We wanted to have some time to look around and see the island, grab some dinner and then go to the Pumpkin Walk.  It is a beautiful island.  We thought there would be some neat restaurants and as we drove along we couldn't find anything.  We found a little Mexican food place and it was delicious.  David got fish tacos (which means no kisses from me for the rest of the night...eww) and i got a breakfast burrito.  So good.  I love me good food.

We still had about an hour or so before the walk started, so we drove around a bit more, then parked and walked to the gardens.  It wasn't too cold and since we were early, we got there just as they were lighting the pumpkins.  No one else around made it really great for some photos.  Not that I can ever get Adam to really look at the camera...he fights it every attempt.

I am starting to think the only pose I ever get with Adam is looking off at something.  At least I get something, though.  Any photo of me and my bubba is one that I cherish.

This one was right after he hit (punched) me in the face and he knew he was in trouble right when he did it.  The other one is the look we get when he is done with something.  I love the faces he makes.

Okay, so David and Adam were walking ahead of me and I asked David if he had seen the pumpkin with pi.  He came back and I said something about how there were a few with math things.  David walks up and says that they read as a statement.  Does anyone know?  It reads right to left...

They had an awesome group playing music.  Adam was completely entranced by it.  Then he was dancing.  Dancing.  Oh my gosh.  I love this kid.

We had a great time.  I love that Adam is old enough to enjoy all that comes with the seasons and holidays.  Tomorrow we are carving our pumpkins.  I am sure you all know that I will be taking pictures and posting again real soon.

I live here, yes I do.

Today after David got off work we headed to Scenic Beach.  I always see the sign for it off the freeway and I say to David that I want to check it out and every time I do, David says to me, "Where's that?"  I am not kidding.  We have had that conversation about 5 times.  Anyway, we finally went...and it was incredible.  The fall has settled in here in Washington State.  The leaves are beautiful and you can smell the season in the air.  It is our favorite season.

'One stick to rule them all.'  Adam was having a great time playing with the sticks.

I love his face in this picture.  It is SO Adam.

Check out his stance.  That's my boy.

Adam saw a squirrel and really wanted it to come play.  It was pretty cute watching him try to get at it.

Look at David....so funny.  In the second photo I am pretty sure he was disappointed that the rock he threw had failed to skip.

These two always are touching noses.  I love them.

I am sure every parent knows how to best keep a kid from falling into something.  The diaper grip is a key move.

'He was really gouging out my eye' is what David said when he saw this picture.  Really?  Looks so enjoyable.

View of the Olympics from the beach.  It really lives up to the name.  We had a lot of fun and we love discovering where we live.  We are so happy here and some days we just can't believe that we get to see this beautiful country all the day long.

Answer

I have been getting a lot of questions as to when David are going to be trying for another baby and I figured that I should just post about it because every time I answer the question, I feel like a part of me dies just a little bit.  Not that I have ever had a problem with discussing our infertility, I actually find it therapeutic.  I think it just reminds me about how hard the decision was and about how much I wish it were a different answer.  I am pretty sure my entire being aches every minute of every day to be able to have another baby as soon as possible.  I don't think a day goes by that we talk about how much we want to add to our small family...and tears are shed just as often.  I just don't have it in me to talk about it anymore.  I try really hard to find the good in our little life we have here and I find when I focus on this one thing, I start to go to that place where I just feel like it isn't fair.  I know the question of 'when?' that we get is out of love and I hope no one is offended that I brush it off.  This is more for me than anything, I suppose.  I am just to fragile about it these days.

With that said, to answer the question, we are waiting at least another year before trying IVF again.  Lots of factors went into our decision and although neither of us wanted to admit that waiting was the answer, it is the answer.  We don't know exactly when we it will happen and when we do decide I am not sure how much of the plan we will want to share.  What I do know is that we love all of our friends and family for all their support.  We are sure lucky.  And just like when we got Adam...it'll be worth the wait.

Kisses for Rachel and the girls

We Skyped with Rachel and her girls this week.  Adam was kissing them like crazy.  He sure does love his family.  I think it is so cute that he'll kiss the computer...I can't get over how cute he is.

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Ever since Adam was born I try to do photo for birthdays in the family.  As cute as it is, getting Adam to cooperate is one of the hardest things to do.  I gave up when he hit about 7 months old...and even though I do still try, it usually ends up with me just getting a bunch of blurry photographs...mostly with Adam crying.  Today is my mom's birthday so we tried again.  I got a few fun ones, but the one where he is smiling is a bit blurry.  He's still cute, though, so it works for me!  Happy Birthday Mom!

Attack of the curling iron

Well, after doing my best to prevent Adam from getting hold of any of my hair tools, he finally grabbed my curling iron the other day. It was terribly sad to listen to my baby cry and so hard to know that it was my fault. I can't help but want to throw the thing away to show it that no one hurts my baby and gets away with it.  We are still doing our best to an infection.  One of the 5 blisters ripped open yesterday at the pumpkin patch, but all the others are still intact for now.  We wrap it up, but he has become a master at ripping the bandage off.  My poor baby.  He is a tough guy, though. I think David and I are more traumatized than Adam.

Playing around

Adam and his little buddy (well, he's a big buddy) playing around in the curtains.  So much fun to watch Adam making friends and playing with them.  He still has a lot of learning to do with sharing, but we're working on it.  Cute boys.

Kisses for Kaira

Whenever we Skype with family, Adam will lean over and give them kisses on the computer screen.  I remember when I was in Kentucky visiting my sister without David, Adam would grab the table that give it the biggest hug and kiss when he'd see David on the screen.  Can my boy be any cuter?  I submit he cannot.

Hunter Farms

Today we did the first tradition-like thing as a family of three!  I know that we had Adam last year for the holidays, but he was pretty little and we didn't do much for tradition.  This year we are all about doing everything we can to enjoy the holidays like a family.  We had a friend tell us about a pumpkin patch and we thought it would be the perfect thing to do.  It was so much fun and I was so giddy about going.  I knew that Adam would love it.  The sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  Perfect day for a family outing.

Adam found the slide first thing.  He couldn't get enough of it.

They had a reindeer.  Yep.  It was awesome.

He loved the animals.  He chased the chickens all over and kept petting all the ones that would let him.  The whole time he just kept saying, "Hi! Hi! Hi!"

Two of a kind.

On the hay-ride to the pumpkin patch.

Pumpkins as far as the eye could see.  How can you find just one to take home?

Smelling the flowers.  He'll smell every flower he passes by.  It's adorable.

While we were out at the pumpkin Adam fell and ripped open one of his blisters he had from grabbing my curling iron this past weekend.  He was pretty sad and one thing that made him smile was beating on the pumpkins like a drum.  He thought that was great and I thought it was great that for a few minutes he was able to forget about his poor little burnt hand.  I hate that he is hurting.

Beating the drum, I mean pumpkin.

I can't help but end with a photo of my favorite boys.  They are the light of my life and I had such a great time with them today.  I can't wait for the rest of the holiday season that will be full of love, laughter and memories that I will cherish for all my eternity.
