As I said, we hit the beach after naptime on Friday. I really didn't think we'd be getting in the water or anything, but I did have Adam's suit in the car just in case. The water was freezing, but that didn't matter to Adam. He ran right in. This kid of mine has no fear. None.
We made giant bubbles and played on the beach. The sun was out and I actually wished I had put my swimsuit on after about 15 minutes there. It was a great time and that night after I put Adam to bed, my mom stayed with him and I drove home to pick up the one thing that was missing the whole week...David.
Dungeness Spit
On Friday, I wanted to show the Taylors a few of the sites we were near. The plan was to hit up the Dungeness Spit, have a picnic lunch and then head to the Sol Duc Falls. After lunch we found out a few other family members had arrived at Fort Worden, so we ended up skipping the falls and heading there after naptime.
Here are some pictures of the time at the Spit. The tide was out, so this time Adam wasn't scared at all. He has also graduated to trying to throw LARGE rocks into the water now. Ones the size if his head or even bigger. How he is going to survive, I have no idea. But he sure did have a wonderful time playing on the beach with his cousins. I know they aren't his first cousins, but I can't remember what we decided they were actually...so cousins work. He loved them all.

Olympic Game Farm with the Taylors
The next part of our trip, my Aunt Mary and my cousin, David, and his family had arrived. We decided to meet up at the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim. They have 4 kids, so I thought it would be a big hit. It was a really rainy day but that didn't ruin the fun.
Dave was terrified of the animals. It was quite funny to watch. He barely rolled down his window to feed them. He was screaming more than the kids were. It was fantastic.

Next, the Dungeness Spit with these guys.
Sequim Lavender Farms
After a long day traveling to the coast, we spent the next day just chilling. The day after we ventured to Sequim to see one of the lavender farms. It smelled so great and Adam loved running around and checking out the animals. I can't wait for the Lavender Festival that is coming up soon. I am not usually a dried flower kind of girl, but I could really see myself buying the dried lavender and using it in someway in my decorations. There were also rows of poppies and I LOVE poppies.
I won't lie, I think this picture is pretty fantastic. Go me.
Adam literally sat there trying to feed the bunny for over five minutes. He just chatted away and the bunny just sat and enjoyed his company. But really, who wouldn't?

Hoh Rain Forest
As we drove through Forks, we saw that the Hoh Rain Forest was not too far away, so we just kept on driving to check it out. Worth the drive. And I kid you not...the moment we entered the rain forest, it started to rain. Rained pretty much the entire time we were there. Crazy.
Also, one of the first signs you see is one that says 'Big Spruce Tree'. And that is exactly what it was. A BIG spruce tree.
By the time we finished here, we were ready for dinner. We ate and then packed in the car for the 2.5 hour drive home. It was a beautiful drive back, for sure. I love where I live.

LaPush
Our next stop was LaPush. Mom is a big Twilight fan and even though I am not so much, I wanted to see it because I heard it was incredibly beautiful. The weather was still really nice. I think everyone needs to pay a visit to LaPush at least once in your life. Absolutely incredible.
Little man quickly found a stick.
After the stick bit the dust, he found a pile of rocks and sat down right in the middle of them. All little boys need are sticks and rocks...but I keep them outside. I don't think my TV would survive the rocks. Or my mirrors. Or my windows. Or pretty much anything that could break.
He is such a stud. I love this kid.

Cape Flattery
My mom came up to visit us a few weeks ago. We were having a family reunion on the weekend and she came up a week before to spend time with us. David was stuck at work, so my mom, Adam and I went up to Discovery Bay for the week. The weather showed one sunny day and we took that day to travel around to see the PNW. Our first stop was the northwestern most point of the continental US, Cape Flattery. We had heard it was worth the drive and I will say it definitely was. The was perfect, the water was blue. It was so scary looking over the cliffs, though. Adam loved it. Every time he would see the views, he would say "WOW!!". He really enjoyed the experience.
Although, the trail at the start was deceivingly nice and easy. I started out with the stroller, then about a third of the way I picked it up to carry it. Then about another third of the way more, I left it on the side of the trail. Note to everyone, strollers are no good.
After Cape Flattery, we wanted to head down to La Push. I timed it perfectly so that Adam could nap on the drive to La Push. It worked and I felt like Super Mom.

Bug Museum
Yes, it is exactly what it says it is. No clever ruse, it is a museum of bugs. We often drive by this cute little place and today we stopped in to kill some time. It was pretty fun. Adam new phrase is, "Cool! This!" We try to get him to say, "This is cool!" but no luck. And that is okay. He little sayings are the best. We went through this little museum and everything was "Cool! This!" and he was also saying hi to everything. I love how brave and curious my little man is. Nothing really scares him...which can be a good thing, but also not so much. He has no fear. He gets that from David, I am scared of everything. Here are some pictures of our little trip. As you can see, there is no hope for him to be anything but nerdy. I'm quite alright with that. I love me nerds. Nerds rule the world.
Lots of waving and yelling "HI!"
